Daniel - 5405010059 Bestseller - Genre

Searching method Searched Amazon Best seller list 2014 and from 2010 to 2013. Searched to 20 books on the list. Some books has plural genre more than two, so picked only one biggest part of the book. ex) the genres of the Frozen are fairy tale, fantasy and girls&women, I picked up only fairy tale.
3
The most popular genre in 2014 Fantasy In 20 books, five science fiction books (teens) are involved on Amazon best seller list in 2014. Secondary, four children’s books are involved, more detailed, there are 1 historical fiction, 1 humor and 2 fairy tales
4
Why? The science fiction books are actually all same book (the Divergent), but different volume. That was made into a movie in this year. And also, in the children’s book, the two fairy tales are also same book and made into a movie this year. That is the Frozen. In these cases, I think the reasons that these books are so popular now are Made into movies Good storyline Authors’ great imagination in the books

2014 vs 2010 to 2013 In 2013, there were three religion books in top 20 books In 2012, five fantasy books on the top 20 list In 2011, six fantasy books on top 20 In 2010, three criminal series on top 20 Excepts for 2013, all most popular books had been made into movies or TV series on the USA. So I can found the trend is that, when a book gets popularity through media like movie and TV series, people buy that book. Also those books have a characteristic of entertainment.
6
Why people consume the same story? As I said, All the most popular books had been come up on media very frequently in those years. Many people have tendency that they do not focus on the books’ literary merit itself. – few of classic on the lists But want to entertain. So they need the stories which were verified by lots of people on that point. In sum up, when a book shows up many times on the media, people think that book is fun, and they read it.
