Black Land The area by the Nile River where the soil is rich

Red Land the deserts to the east and west of the Nile river

Floodplain an area of low, flat land along a stream or river that may flood

Delta A piece of land shaped like a triangle. This is made when a river splits into smaller rivers before it flows into an ocean.
