Far and Away You will be watching a film that portrays the life of 2 Irish immigrants who come to the United States for various reasons. The film displays a number of themes and topics including: Day One—Immigration, Industrialization, Urbanization What do each of these “themes/topics” mean? Why are they important to study in history? *During the film take “notes” on the given questions. Create bullets of information using examples from the movie that support an answer to each question.

First Person Letter Write a one page letter home from the perspective of one of the two main characters (Shannon or Joseph) Should act as evidence of the experience of an immigrant in the late 19 th century Should detail each of the Day One “themes/topics” (Immigration, Industrialization, Urbanization) Should thoroughly explain your experience coming to and living in America Should be CREATIVE!
