8 Trailer Parking West Lot 23 Spaces 368 ft long North Lot 27 Spaces 426 ft long Minimum Available Turning Radius: 50’ Space Dimensions: 14’W x 54’D
9
Truck Docking Import Export Docks 2 Docks – accommodates 12 trucks per dock Dimensions Dock Height – 4’ Length of dock – 162.5’ Each Truck Space 8.5’ wide 5.5’ space in between trucks
10
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson10 Railroad Spur Comes onto Project Crimson’s property at north- west corner Two spurs run parallel to east side of building Loading and unloading for 3 cars at a time Storage for 12 rail cars Dock Dimensions 180 feet long 14 feet wide “Rail King” will move cars
11
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson11 Access Roads Access site by Boone Boulevard and Industrial Park Drive Three lanes at each entrance for two driving lanes and one turning lane 12 feet wide lanes Designed for truck traffic and passenger cars Cul-de-sac provided for truck turn around
12
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson12 Fire Access Fire access on three sides of the building Access by vehicle around three full sides of the building Fire zones will be shown with painted markings
13
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson13 Technical Aspects of the Design
14
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson14 Clearing the Site Must remove 1.5 feet of topsoil Trees and unwanted material Other debris and/or trash on site Large boulders or fill material hidden underneath the surface
15
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson15 Grading the Site Grading All areas to be built on must be graded to desired elevation Must grade back to the original terrain at property line Grading will be done to ensure runoff away from building
16
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson16 Road and Railroad Cross Sections Roadway – Traffic Class 3 Railroad
17
3/01/0617 Parking Lot Pavement Cross Sections Truck Parking Area – Traffic Class 3 Passenger Car Parking Area – Traffic Class 2
18
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson18 Railroad Spur Old spur will have to be moved 145 feet New spur branches off at north-west corner of site Radius of spur is 575 feet 115 Pound Dudley Rail to be used Follows KCS Guidelines
19
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson19 Industrial Building Set above the 100-year flood plane at 154 feet Fire Protection to be provided 500,000 square feet with a maximum of 94,500 square feet for office space Meets requirements 24 truck docks 3 Loading docks and doors for rail cars Parking for 200 employees per shift Storage for 12 rail cars and 50 trailers
20
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson20 Water Distribution Required Min. pressure of 75 psi Suitable pressure and supply for a fire situation Available 12” Pipe Delivery provides 49.4 psi Other pipe systems were tried
21
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson21 Storm Water Sewer System Will be designed in final phase of the design Can carry the runoff for a 100-year flood event Detention Pond to store 100-year flood event runoff Gravity flow to detention pond
22
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson22 Culverts Will be designed in final phase of project Will be located at every crossing of a creek 3 road crossings 1 railroad crossing Will be designed for a 25-year flood event
23
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson23 Results and Recommendations
24
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson24 Results and Recommendations Grading Rough Totals for Preliminary Report Cut=39,230 yd 3 Fill=171,470yd 3 Total=132240 yd 3 Fill Will change with final phase of the project This is a lot of fill, however, the cut from the detention pond will account for some of it.
25
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson25 Results and Recommendations Water Demand Water demand is higher than amount provided Water Pressure Needed = 75 psi Water Pressure Available = 49.4 psi This does not account for the fire demand that will also be needed. Possible Solutions Storage Tank System- Elevated or Ground Water Pump Booster Pump Fire-Service Pump
26
3/01/06 REC Preliminary Presentation for Project Crimson26 Questions? Concerns about the Layout? Concerns about the Design? Possible Ideas to Better the Design? Comments?
