2 Urban Area Security Initiative  Since its inception in FY 2003, the intent of the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) program has been to enhance regional preparedness in major metropolitan areas.  The UASI program directly supports the National Priority on expanding regional collaboration in the National Preparedness Guidelines and is intended to assist participating jurisdictions in developing integrated regional systems for prevention, protection, response, and recovery.

11 Emergency Management  Purpose: To recognize & create opportunities to build emergency management coordination capabilities throughout the Salt Lake Urban Area  Target Capabilities  Planning  Emergency Operations Center Management  Critical Resource Logistics & Distribution  Volunteer Management and Donations  Citizen Evacuation and Shelter-In-Place
