® 3 Address Management Organization

® 4 Meeting Purpose and Issues  Review of CASS™/MASS™ Cycle M  Review CASS/MASS Cycle N Requirements  Discuss “What’s Next” for the CASS/MASS Environment  Discuss NCOA Link®  New Developments  FASTforward ® Update

® 5 CASS™/MASS™ Cycle M Implementation  Static data that was provided by the USPS ® should have been used for all testing. Manufacturers were responsible for distributing the static data to their customers and notifying them to use it for CASS or MASS testing.  An extension to the ‘required by date’ was granted for certification to accommodate the mailing industry  Cycle M certification was deferred to expire on July 31, 2011 instead of July 31, 2010  Fee schedule for MASS certification was altered to coincide with the certification extension

® 6 CASS™/MASS™ Cycle N Requirements  Suite Link™ Mandatory for end users  Unique ZIP ® Code Matching Policy Clarifications  General Delivery Clarifications  Retire MASS Certification using POSTNET™ Barcode  New Static test data will be provided by the USPS ® to all software manufacturers. This data must be used for all tests and must be provided to end users by their manufacturers. The first character of a machine identifier for a MASS test must be “X” to represent static data.

® 7 CASS™/MASS™ Cycle N – Fee Schedule

® 8 Suite Link™ - What Is It?  Contains suite numbers for business addresses in selective highrise buildings Targets highrise addresses with high-volume default mail  Improves business addressing information through assignment of suite number  Allows USPS ® to achieve increased volume of mail sorted in delivery point sequence  Data available through CASS™/MASS™ Developers  No cost for license to CASS/MASS Developers

® 9  Suite Link candidate records are records where there is a known secondary deficiency.  All CASS™/MASS™ certifications require the use of Suite Link to append suite numbers where match available  Usage mandatory for all end users in production Suite Link™ - What Is It?

® 10 Suite Link™  4.4% records matched the previous 2 Fiscal Years  FY 08: 103 million records finalized by Suite Link  FY 09: 160 million records finalized by Suite Link Statistics show the use of Suite Link increased volume of mail sorted in delivery point sequence.

® 11  CASS™ Developers Will be included in all CASS certification tests Must be included in software released to end user  MASS™ Developers Will be included in all MASS certification tests End Users required to certify using Suite Link test data Required to spray new 11-Digit barcode for suite number Required to spray suite number on mailpiece  End Users (CASS/MASS) Mandatory for use in production environment Suite number required to be appended to address printed on mailpiece in order to use ZIP+4 ® code Suite Link™ - Impact

® 12 How to determine if you have a Suite Link candidate record:  Match to a High-rise Default record  Match to a Street Default record (High-rise Default is not present and High-rise specific records exist) Note: Match to Firm records missing secondary should not be considered as candidate records for Suite Link. Suite Link™ - Impact

® 13  If a mailer does not append the secondary number to their original address when one is available from Suite Link, they cannot use the ZIP+4 ® Code associated with the new address. The mailer may continue to use the input address with ONLY the 5- digit ZIP ® Code associated with the input address  Suite Link should be done prior to a NCOA Link® or FASTforward ® lookup Suite Link™ - Impact

® 14 Suite Link™ - Examples Input: UT Animal Research 910 Madison Ave Memphis TN 38103 Output:UT ANIMAL RESEARCH 910 MADISON AVE STE 823 MEMPHIS TN 38103-3435 Suite Link Return Code: A Note: If end-user cannot append secondary number to the mailpiece when Suite Link provides one, they would return input with appropriate 5-digit ZIP ® Code without the ZIP +4 ® Code value. The input address matches to high-rise default record. DPV ® returns a “D” which indicates the secondary is missing. Software must query Suite Link.
