What are softskills? Soft skills is a term often associated with a person's "EQ" (Emotional Intelligence Quotient), the cluster of personality traits, social graces, communication, language, interpersonal skills, managing people, leadership, etc. that characterize relationships with other people. Soft skills are increasingly sought out by employers in addition to standard qualifications. (Wikipedia)

How do we know where we stand? Pearson Versant English Placement Test (50 min test) This test is used by several multinational companies in their recruitment process All students take the test (IITH pays for the test)

What is being tested? Speaking Listening Writing Reading

Outcome of the test C2, C1, B2 (No intervention) B1 (Level 1 program) A2, A1 (Level 2 program)

Some statistics 1200 students wrote Versant test on weekends in August. 43% scored B2 & C1 57% scored A0, A1, A2 & B1.

Softskills training program Training for students who scored (B1, A1, A2) is conducted by TalentSprint Classes for softskills will be held on weekends during the semester 2/3 of the fee for softskills training is sponsored by IITH Students have to pay only 1/3 of the fees (approximately 1000-2000 Rs) Training is not compulsory, but we strongly recommend it to students
