The Academy Program High School Juniors and Seniors Region-Wide Students Enrolled in Their Home High School 2½ Hours at an Academy Each Day, Multiple Sites Industry-Driven Curriculum Developing Work Ready Skills Dual Credit 27-35 college credit hours aligned to certifications No personal cost to student or parents Industry Paid Internships First NAM cohort of 24 students to graduate with a high school diploma + MSSC Certification in Spring 2012. Proven ability to be successful in a college program Pathway to career, high paying job and beyond

The Advanced Technology & Manufacturing Academy All Academy curriculum is integrated with work readiness skills which support the ACT Career Readiness Certification The ATMA curriculum gap analysis began in 2009 to MSSC-Production Technician Certificate competencies Students began their integrated academy curriculum in Fall of 2010

The Process One of our Alamo Colleges, Northeast Lakeview College, administered the ACT Work Keys Career Readiness Certification Exams to three of our ATMA locations from March to May 2010 Two manufacturing instructors from St. Philips College travel to Indiana to become approved instructors in August 2010 St. Philips College becomes an approved MSSC-CPT testing site by September 2010

The Results Twenty eight students received Career Readiness Certificates by May 2010 Gold-4 Silver-18 Bronze-6 Twenty eight students successfully passed their first exam towards the MSSC-CPT certification in Safety in December of 2010 Continuous improvement of curriculum is ongoing
