1 Geometry Date: 9/12/2011 Objective: Students will create Venn Diagrams and will analyze conditional statements Do Now: pg 80 #52, 54, 56, pg 74 #60 HW Requests: pg 64-65 #12-33 (every three) pg 72-73 #19-29 (every three) HW: Pg 78 #16-26 evens, Pg 73 #41-44; Read Section 2.3, Take Notes Announcement: Quiz Friday Syllabus Return sheets due 9/16 (signed portion due Friday)

2 Fundamental Questions Pg 62-64 Section 2.2 1.What is a Venn Diagram? A Venn Diagram is a picture that is used to illustrate intersections, unions, and other operations on sets. Conjunctions are represented by the intersection of sets. Disjunctions are represented by the union of 2 sets.

3 Fundamental Questions Pg 69-70/75-77 Section 2.2/2.3 FQ 1.How do we use Venn Diagrams to illustrate real world data? Pg 72 #15-17 Where would we place the states that neither produce corn or wheat? What is the universal set? 2.What is a conditional statement? A statement that can be written in if-then form. If you take notes, then Mrs. Harton will not glare at you. 3. What are the parts of a conditional statement? Key Concept: If-Then Statement (pg 75) GP #4, 5, 7-9 pg 78 Exit Ticket: pg 78 #17-27 odds
