When is it Appropriate and Meaningful? Is it developmentally appropriate? Is it consistent with how the young child develops and learns? Is it consistent with the child’s current developmental stages?

Technology… When is it appropriate & meaningful? Will the activity benefit the child? Is it meaningful to the learner? Will it motivate the learner?

Integrate the technology Into classroom activities Sends the message that it is one of the tools to be used in daily activities Infuse technology skills within the lesson Encourage students to work together Make a variety of tools available Allow for exploration and discovery

How Can I Be Successful? Use the technology regularly, for real tasks –Check the weather daily for calendar activities –Use the digital camera for a photographic record of field trips or activities in the classroom –Look for shapes around the room/school and take digital pictures
