Tobacco Addiction Tobacco contains nicotine. Nicotine causes addiction. addiction A mental or physical need for a drug or other substance Nicotine is as addictive as cocaine and heroin.

Legal Bans on Tobacco Ads Tobacco companies are not allowed to place outdoor advertisements within 1,000 feet of schools and playgrounds. Tobacco companies cannot make or sell hats, T-shirts, and other items. Cigarette advertisements cannot appear on radio and television.
