9 Why do clubs need umpires? If a club has a licensed umpire (regional license), the club has to umpires less games than a club without a licensed umpire. 10 How to become an umpire… 1st step: Club license (compulsory for all umpires in all divisions and at all ages) - rules course at the club ~2h (held by umpire coaches of regional association) - rules test ~ 30mins. It is common known that: - youth spokespersons are competent - YoSPs are fit in dealing with new media - YoSPs want to involve themselves in improving the club, the structures - YoSPs are good mediators between the youth and the decisions of the adults Stephan Haumann | Member of the Youth Committee
