7 Questions that DfE are currently looking at: What is the most advantageous scale for school-level accountability? Are there benefits when governance is organised at a multi-school level? How do effective governing bodies use target setting, data analysis and headteacher reporting to create robust accountability for school performance? What defines the boundary between the strategic role of the governing body and the headteachers’ responsibility for the day to day operation and management of the school?
