3. Algebra
Algebra is one of the broad parts of mathematics, together with number theory, geometry and analysis. In its most general form algebra is the study of symbols and the rules for manipulating symbols and is a unifying thread of all of mathematics.
Example
Solve the equation: Equation: x - 6 = 9
To get Equation: x on its own, we need to add 6. If you add 6 to one side of the equation, you need to add 6 to the other side of the equation:
Equation: x = 9 + 6
Equation: x = 15

4. Division
In mathematics, especially in elementary arithmetic, division is an arithmetic operation. Specifically, if b times c equals a, written: a = b × c where b is not zero, then a divided by b equals c, written: a ÷ b = c For instance, 6 ÷ 3 = 2 since 3 × 2 = 6 In the expression a ÷ b = c, a is called the dividend or numerator, b the divisor or denominator and the result c is called the quotient.

5. Distance
Distance, or farness, is a numerical description of how far apart objects are. In physics or everyday usage, distance may refer to a physical length, or an estimation based on other criteria. In mathematics, a distance function or metric is a generalization of the concept of physical distance.

7. Pythagoras
You can work out other mathematical problems using Pythagoras' theorem. For instance, if you know two sides of a right-angled triangle, you can find the third like this: 1.square (multiply by itself) the lengths you know 2.add or subtract them 3.find the square root This is the Pythagoras theory
