PRIMARY INSTRUMENTATION …Cont’d Radiation: visible, ultraviolet, infrared, microwave – spectral, total, and fluxes Chemistry: CO, CO2, O3, CH4, water vapor – measurements in the Upper Troposphere and Lower Stratosphere Hydrometeor and aerosol spectrometers – External probes – collection efficiencies and inlet losses are concerns

SPECIAL INSTRUMENTATION Remote sensors: Scanning Doppler Radar, DIAL, Temperature profiler, Scanning Doppler Lidar Chemistry instruments: NOX, NOY, HOX and stratospheric gas sampling Special radiation instrumentation: Multi-channel radiometers (360 degree coverage), cross-track scanning radiometers, tomographic reconstruction with upward scanning radiometers
