Unit 1 English - Using Language to Persuade

Our focus for study is how visual language is used in an attempt to manipulate and persuade the reader. Use your “Questions for analysing visual language” on your handout and make notes on the following slides. For coursework you will choose 3 slides to write detailed paragraphs on.

Oral presentation - Analysing a non-print media text You will identify and analyse persuasive techniques in presenting ideas and information in a series of visual texts (at least 3) on the same issue. Your presentation will focus on how viewers are being influenced or persuaded to share a point of view. Topic: You will select your own topic. Time limit: 5 minutes for individuals or 10 minutes for pairs Date: Term 2, Week 2 This task will account for 20 % of your Unit 1 mark.
