Percent Less than 1% Because "percent" means "out of, or per 100", a percent which is less than 1% is a quantity which is less than 1 out of 100. When you express a percent less than 1% as a decimal, the resulting decimal is less than 0.01. Examples:.068%.02%.119%

Percent Greater than 100% A percent that is greater than 100% is a quantity which is greater than 100 out of 100 or, in other words greater than 1. When you express a percent greater than 100% as a decimal, the resulting decimal is greater than 1. Examples: 110% 225% 671%
