3 CPI & BBP Knowledge Center AKO/DKO’s background information and future plans Background Information Initially be built upon AKO. Initial objectives are to facilitate the addition of joint access to the current AKO product; migrate a limited number of joint users--one hundred fifty thousand--and content; and support the expansion of AKO to DKO through pilot projects with Joint Forces Command and DISA. The first group of pre-authorized DoD users was able to register for an AKO/DKO account on 6 January 2007. Those members include a select group of personnel from Department of Labor (DOL) Defense Information Systems Agency Enterprise Data and Global Exchange (DISA EDGE) Joint Forces Command (JFCOM or USJFCOM)

4 CPI & BBP Knowledge Center AKO/DKO’s background information and future plans Future plans DKO will establish an Enterprise Portal Platform across DOD while featuring integrated proven capabilities and functionality from existing portals. DKO will ultimately enable knowledge sharing across the DOD community and help realize cost savings for DOD.

Information relating to training and education b. Success stories and lessons learned c. Best Maintenance Practices & Best Maintenance Practices d. Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) tools 2. Avoid duplication of current information sharing/collaboration centers 3. Create synergy of the resources
