Aileron Ailerons can be used to generate a rolling motion for an aircraft. LOCATION: Ailerons are small hinged sections on the outboard portion of a wing. MOVEMENT: Ailerons cause one wing tip to move up and the other wing tip to move down

Elevators Elevators can be used to generate a pitch motion for an aircraft. LOCATION: Elevators are located on the tail of the airplane attached to the horizontal stabilizer. MOVEMENT: Point the elevator up: and the nose goes up and the airplane climbs. Point the elevator down: and the nose goes down and the airplane goes down.

Rudder Rudders can be used to generate a yaw motion for an aircraft LOCATION: Rudders are located on the fin of the aircraft called the vertical stabilizer MOVEMENT: The rudder causes the airplane's nose to move to the right or left
