2 www.ohahockey.org MISSION STATEMENT The OHAHP will provide players the opportunity to learn what it takes physically, mentally and academically to achieve their hockey goals. This will be accomplished through intense, high performance, on and off ice training sessions, hockey specific mental training programs and shared experiences from keynote speakers with professional, collegiate and junior backgrounds. Each player will leave the program physically and mentally prepared for the challenges that lay ahead in their respective, upcoming hockey season. EDUCATION…PREPARATION…OPPORTUNITY

3 www.ohahockey.org WHO’S INVOLVED Over 120 players over the past 2 years from Minor Midget, Jr. D, Jr. C, Jr. B and Jr. A Over 30 coaches, trainers, evaluators take part in weekend. Easton joined the OHAHP as a title sponsor in 2007 and are looking to become a mainstay with the program. Local business’ sponsored the program through team sponsorship along with personal awards – Robson Technologies Student Athlete award (received laptop) – All stars received jackets, hockey bags, sticks

5 www.ohahockey.org PROGRAM FORMAT Players apply to the OHAHP by submitting an application form by mail or online. Applications are reviewed and players are selected and placed on an OHAHP team. ITINERARY FRIDAY - Check in, On-ice practice (run by OHL Asst coach), Off-ice testing, Sports psychology session, Parent player seminar, Meet and greet for parents/players and staff SATURDAY - On ice testing, 2 parent player seminar, 2 games (OHA officiated). SUNDAY - 2 games, Parent player seminar, Exit interviews for all players

6 www.ohahockey.org SEMINARS All seminars are open to parents, family, coaches, trainers. Each seminar covers a different topic related to hockey. Seminar Topics – OHA, OHL, CIS, NCAA and Professional – Off-ice Conditioning, Nutrition – Sports Psychology – Player agents, Player promotion agencies

8 www.ohahockey.org EXIT INTERVIEWS Players are evaluated during games by OHA coaches, managers, OHL scouts, coaches, CIS coaches, Professional players, coaches All of the data is collected and inputted on to an evaluation form. Before players leave the program their coaches sit with each one individually and give them feedback on the weekend.

10 www.ohahockey.org PLAYER BENEFITS Educate parents and players on the different opportunities in hockey and how to achieve them. Opportunity for players to compete with their peers during an intense weekend of hockey. Opportunity for players to network by getting to know new coaches, trainers, scouts and keynote speakers. Valuable feedback on performance throughout the weekend from knowledgeable hockey people.

11 www.ohahockey.org OHA TEAM BENEFITS Opportunity for coaches, trainers, managers to get involved with an OHA program and represent their Jr. Team. Network with other knowledgeable hockey people, coaches, scouts, managers from a variety of leagues and levels. Opportunity to meet players and watch some young hockey talents in game situations. Organizations or Leagues are more than welcome to promote themselves, by talking to parents, setting up a table or handing out information. 2008 may offer a coaching clinic, great opportunity for teams to reward coaches by sending them to a weekend of hockey action.
