PDHPE Learning Area One of 8 learning areas in NSW secondary curriculum Learning area comprises 4 courses in Stage 6: i. PDHPE 2 Unit ii. Community and Family Studies 2 Unit iii. Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation CEC iv. Exploring Early Childhood CEC (CEC: Content Endorsed Course)

Key Resources Government publications are most reliable in the health area: i. Reports and publications from Australian Institute of Health and Welfare eg Australia’s Health 2008 ii. Reports and publications from NSW Health eg Future Directions for Health in NSW – Towards 2025 Non-government agency publications and websites eg Cancer Council, National Heart Foundation. Textbooks, newspapers, websites etc
