What is It? A conjunction is a word used in writing to join words or parts of a sentence together, like peanut butter and jelly.

Subordinating Conjunctions
A subordinate clause can not stand alone as a sentence. A clause is a group of words with a subject and a verb. A subordinating conjunction introduces a subordinate clause and joins it to a main clause.
