The Retention Mission of the Commissioner Corps is best achieved by providing an adequate number of trained unit commissioners who provide a link to District Committee resources in support of a quality unit program. Commissioner Retention Mission 3 NEW – MAY 2012

Steps for a Unit Commissioner in Journey to Excellence 5 1.National Updates and publishes this year’s standards 2.Unit uses JTE standards for their annual Action Planning and Program Planning – reminded and supported by UC 3.Unit reviews performance on JTE monthly/quarterly – supported by UC 4.UC makes regular contact, records in UVTS for UC benefit 5.Unit annual JTE performance is assessed at rechartering – supported by UC. Awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze 6.Unit is presented JTE recognition – by UC 7.CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT is a key part of JTE

Summary 28 Everyone has a role to play in the support of our units and our youth JTE tells us how we’re doing against specific criteria VOS tells us how our stakeholders think we’re doing Better units + better program+ happier youth = achieving “the main thing” It takes an entire district to serve a unit
