WHAT IS YEF? The fund is set up to provide an entry point to long-term employment through a job placement that offers the chance to learn work skills while earning an income Fund kicked off Sept. 23, 2013 Start dates have begun for training/placements!

WHO IS ELIGIBLE? A person between 15- 29 years of age Unemployed but with a career goal Not participating in full-time training or education Resident of Ontario

TRAINING COMPONENT Includes short-term, non occupation- specific training Directly linked to a job placement

WHAT TYPES OF TRAINING? Examples of eligible training could include but are not limited to: Written/oral communications (e.g. public speaking) Health and Safety (e.g. first aid, WHMIS) Business Skills (information management) or Technology (word processing) The training cannot exceed eight weeks in length.

OTHER SUPPORT Work Clothes, Footwear Equipment, Uniforms Tools, Supplies Child Care Expenses Transportation Costs (i.e. gas cards, bus tickets)

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT TO THE EMPLOYER? Hiring incentives for employer Free staff training to address placement related skills gap Pre-screening of candidates Contributing to the growth of the sector
