2. Follow these guidelines:  Place each main point at the top of a card Start with your Introduction and work from that point forward

3.  Write your supporting ideas on the lines below the main idea  Use key words and phrases to help you remember details

4.  Highlight ideas you want to emphasize  Give yourself delivery cues and directions like › Pause at this point › Look Up! › Slow down! › Show graphic

5.  Number each card

6.  Keep you organized and on track. No winging it!  Be easy to read. You may have to glance back to them frequently.

7.  Have notes written on the back. That makes it too easy to get lost or confused during your speech.  Have every word of your story written out.

8.  Who is my audience?  Am I providing them with clear wording?  Am I answering any questions the audience may have about my story?

10.  Stand up straight: No leaning!  Spit out gum  Make eye contact  Project your voice  Plant your feet
