4 Changes In Proposed Permanent Standard  Plumbed Water Supply IS OK  Methods For Cooling Other Than Shade Are OK For All But Agriculture  Employer Must Stress Consumption Of Water In Hot Environments When Employees Are Sweating More Than Usual

5 New Proposed Permit Requirements (significant changes)  Two Types Of Permits Required Annual permit allows employer to conduct specific high hazard work at any location for one year Project permit allows employer to work at specific location  “ Project Administrator” Is Key. This Is The Person With Overall Onsite Responsibility For The Management Of The Entire Project

6 New Proposed Permit Requirements (significant changes)  Must Obtain Permit For Certain “High Hazard” Work Activities Tower Cranes (project) Underground diesel engines (project) Demolition of structures higher than 36 feet (project administrator to hold project permit and employer to hold annual permit) Construction activities (steel placement, metal decking, curtain walls, precast panels and fascia) on structures higher than 36 feet (same as 3 above) Trenches 5 feet or deeper (project or annual permit) Erection of scaffolds higher than 36 feet (project or annual permit)
