Internet Subscribers in Asia Pacific 1999- 2005 The Asia-Pacific region expected to assume the leadership position. By 2003, Asia Pacific will have 183.3 million subscribers, compared to 162.8 million subscribers in the US, and 162 million in Western Europe. Main drive factors: Lower access costs, improvements to infrastructure, and pent-up demand. In 2005, China will be the largest Internet market in the region, followed by Japan, S. Korea and India.
