What kind of revolutionary was Jesus ? a.Did he want to get rid of religious or political leaders ? b.Did he want to criticise and shake up the Jewish religion ? c.Did he want to criticise and shake up the government ? d.Did he have ideas about a whole new way of doing religion ? Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through Me.” 1.Write out this quote. 2.Explain what kind of revolutionary this shows Jesus to be. 3.What was the “whole new way of doing religion” that Jesus taught ?

Jesus challenged the religious leaders in Israel to CHANGE the way they worshipped God: instead of following the rules slavishly, Jesus taught they should do things from the heart, out of love…. How would you challenge these Rules? What would you say ?... 1.Jewish rules says work is forbidden on the Sabbath out of respect for the 7 th day of creation when God rested. But if someone is sick and needs help, what would you do? 2.Jewish rules says you must wash carefully before eating, to respect your body. But if your heart is full of evil, what should you do ? 3.Jewish rules said that you must punish people who cheated on their husbands by stoning them to death. But if you yourself are also guilty of some wrongdoing, what should you do ?
