2. Nobbys Facts Nobbys Head was first sighted by Europeans on 10 May 1770 by Captain James Cook on the ship the Endeavour and was described by Cook as: "A small round rock or Island, laying close under the land, bore South 82 degrees West, distance 3 or 4 Leagues". Nobbys was originally called Coal Island Today 1887

3. City Hall City Hall was discovered in 1797. It is opposite to civic park and is next to Civic Theatre. It has 7 function & 7 conference rooms.

4. Art Gallery It was open by the Queen on the 18 th March 1977. The Art Gallery is a great place to go to chillax and look at good art

5. Court House The court house was designed in 1890 and opened in 1892. There is a coat of arms on top of the gate which is a two story house. Walter Vernon built the court house in 1990 and opened it in 1992.
