It is used on automatic Horizontal FFS machines, particularly for the wrapping of chocolate snacks and ice creams (that is all products sensible to temperatures), but more and more used in order to reach faster packing speeds (higher than 50m/min) and energy saving. Cold-seal is normally a natural derivative of the rubber tree, but there are also synthetic cold seals available that totally eliminate the risk of allergic reactions. The films usually used for this kind of application are monolayer of coextruded OPP base: TRANSPARENT OPP, that allows the visualisation of the product METALLISED OPP, that gives light barrier white and metallised CAVITATED OPP, that give an attractive appeal
