OBJ: Given lab SWBAT explain the relationship between ramp height (potential energy) and the distance a cup moved (kinetic energy) as well as making predictions by extrapolating using a graph with 70% accuracy. RAMP LAB - DAY 2 DN: Complete college style lab (title, problem, hypothesis, materials, vocabulary, data plotting/analysis, questions, conclusion). ACT: Complete Measuring and Graphing Motion (college style) Lab; Review Results; hand-in either end of period or tomorrow. HW: Complete college style Lab; Work on Constructed Response #4 Packet (due this Thursday, May 22); Lab practical, May 27, p.1- small gym, p.9- room 118; NYSSAE Exam, June 2

COLLEGE-STYLE LAB REPORT Title: State a title for the lab. Problem: State the problem (as a question) Materials: State the equipment used. Hypothesis: State an educated guess that answers the problem. Vocabulary: Define: potential energy (& formula), kinetic energy (& formula) Procedure: Steps taken to complete lab Experimentation: plotting data, graphing; prediction (extrapolation); graphic relationship [inverse?, direct?, cyclic?, static?] (see worksheet) Questions: see worksheet (front & back) Conclusion: Is hypothesis true or false? Explain what you found by experimentation (graphing).
