Received new "130nm" jigs from Liverpool and after the "module workshop" 25/3/15 at Liverpool and ready to make dummy modules New jigs need to be slotted ie some reference holes need to be elongated. Job in Birmingham workshops. UV light bars have arrived from Berlin (see photo). Working also with Craig Sawyer (RAL) who is very successfully using an EFD Ultra TT Series 525 dispenser using procedures developed for the Birmingham glue dispenser. Atlys at Birmingham: First steps Digilent Atyls board provided by PeterP (Serial number: 1326) Initially connected to our Win7pro-PC running with HSIO with full installation (SCTDAQ, ROOT, ISE), firmware loaded with Xilinx JTAG cable: LEDs flash, DAQ can see board status. Have fully installed second Win7pro-PC with SCTDAQ/ITSDAQ in the version from SVN as of 2 nd Mar 2015, Root 5.34/28, MS-VisualStudio-2010Pro. Installed Digilent s/w, flashed PROM with firmware version recommended by MattW: va056. DAQ reports access is ok (eg DAQ Status on the GUI). We have also receive VMOD-IB eg to connect Atlys to ABC130 hybrid. Possible to run with our ABC250 hybrids (firmware) ?

UV light bars used to make dummy 130nm hybrids (glass ASICs + usual 2mg UV glue -> 5 dots). Check glue thickness on CMM. Use new jigs to exercise making first dummy module (hybrids with glass ASICs on glass “sensor”). Use UV glue ( we have lots). Repeat till happy with procedure. Then move to patterned glass ASICs; bond to dummy modules. Aim to make two dummy modes, one using “UV” hybrids and the other using “silver” hybrids …… good to go? Use UV light bars to make dummy 130nm hybrids for shear tests before and after irradiation. Compare shear tests and wire-bondability (pull-test strengths) of hybrids made using heated cure (TRA-DUCT 2902) and UV cure adhesives. Continue with Atlys and work towards 130nm hybrid readout capability Immediate Plans Simon Pyatt Sam Edwards Juergen Thomas John Wilson Phil Allport
