Demonstration The Concerto project in the city of Zaragoza aims to achieve real energy savings and environmental improvements in order to improve quality of life. The specific demonstration objective of the project is to show how the integration of several proven or new energy technologies and design and management techniques can save a lot of energy, while introducing alternative & satisfactory energy behaviours. The measures we are working on:  Demonstrations of practical and technically viable energy saving in the use of natural gas (space and water heating and cooling) and electricity (lighting) in addition to the contribution of renewable energy sources (solar, photovoltaic).  Bioclimatic design criteria applied in the building and refurbishment of houses (appropriate orientation, use of insulation, solar protection, ventilation, use of vegetation).

RENAISSANCE is a project in the CONCERTO program co-financed by the European Commission within the Sixth Program Outline RENAISSANCE ZARAGOZA SPAIN These measures are going to be taken in the existing houses of the district of Picarral and in new houses in the new district of Valdespartera. They are also going to be applied in a new public building in the same district of Valdespartera (a centre dedicated to energy) and in a existing public school in the district of Picarral. RENAISSANCE is a project in the CONCERTO program co-financed by the European Commission within the Sixth Program Outline RENAISSANCE ZARAGOZA SPAIN Objective: This new building will be an Exhibition and Interpretation Centre devoted to energy and the sustainable urban development. In this building the behavior of homes built according to criteria of sustainability in the Valdespartera district will be measured. VALDESPARTERA Interpretation Centre For this purpose, a process of monitoring the 193 homes in the 49 buildings situated on the 22 sites in the district has been carried out by measuring: - Consumption. - State of the building (insulation and energy systems). -Human behavior patterns. Information concerning the behavior of eco- buildings of this type will be included for didactic uses in the permanent exhibition of the building.
