NGO Peaasjad (Head Matters) NGO Peaasjad (Head Matters): since 2009. Mission: To improve young people’s mental health and reduce mental health stigma in Estonia. Team members: (mental health specialists; psychologists, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, mental health nurse, occupational therapist. Youth work specialists; youth workers, trainers. Semiotician, public relations consultant, designer, et al) Web portal Peaasi.ee: Young people can be reached on the Internet.

Project: "Peaasi.ee – e-consultation, web platform and digital solutions on mental health for Estonian youth" Main goals: to raise awareness of mental health topics among young people and people working with young people, decrease the stigmatisation of people with mental health problems; support better access to mental health services by fostering help-seeking behaviour; prevent and relieve mental health problems, facilitate early interventions. - Target group: young people 14-26. Secondary target groups: teachers, youth workers, parents, mental health specialists, friends, family. -Main actions: e-counseling, interactive self-help tools, brain training exercises, starting conversations on mental health. -Funded by: The project is financed by Norway Grants 2009-2014 Public Health Initiatives programme. The programme operator in Estonia is the Ministry of Social Affairs.

e-counseling Counselors are specialists with clinical experience - Help to define the problem; - How, where and what kind of specialist to get help from; - Advice on what to do in the moment to increase mental well-being.

Interactive self-help tools Based on cognitive-behavioral therapy and Peaasi.ee team members’ clinical experience On the web or in the form of apps For young people who have diagnoses of disorders For young people who have any distressing symptoms Address some of the most common problems (Fear Fighter, The Boss of Anger, Thought Tamer, etc)

Brain training exercises Based on neuropsychology and cognitive remediation therapy For young people who have deterioration in cognitive functions due to psychiatric illness (depression, schizophrenia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders) For young people who want to improve cognitive functioning (memory, attention, etc)

Starting conversations, dialogues on mental health Raising awareness, helping to form attitudes, to find appropriate behaviours With young people With teachers With youth workers With parents With media With artists With anyone who has mental health - Seminars, lectures, trainings, articles, web and social media...
