Project Controls Requirement ABP Update Through January 19, 2010 the MassDOT Accelerated Bridge Program has advertised 73 construction projects with a combined construction budget valued at $472.8 Million. Of these 73 advertised construction projects: 57 have already, or will, repair/replace 102 site-specific bridges throughout the Commonwealth 16 are maintenance/preservation projects which provide additional work to improve the safety of more than 21 other bridges in the Commonwealth 60 have been awarded to a contractor 11 have been substantially completed ABP – ACEC Design Consultants ABP Council Executive Director– Anne Collins  Project Controls is a requirement in the ABP Bond Bill. SECTION 17. “The council shall establish and implement project controls to ensure that projects carried out under this act shall be done in the most efficient possible manner. The council shall create an internal project controls function to oversee all such work... In addition, the financing of and expenditures under the program shall be subject to a joint public oversight hearing conducted by the joint committee on transportation and the joint committee on bonding, capital expenditures and state assets not less than two times per year.”
