Introducing myCAV Consumer Affairs Victoria has developed a new online system for incorporated associations the system, called myCAV, is part of the Victorian Government’s Digital Strategy to ensure that Government services and information are accessible online to all Victorians.

myCAV is the new way all incorporated associations will need to use myCAV to: lodge annual statements undertake all transactions and notifications of change under the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012.

About myCAV reduces paperwork makes it easier to meet legal obligations enables you to update details instantly has automated reminders of tasks required accepts online credit card payments gives ability to print certificates and rules keeps track of records and transactions provides convenient 24 hour access

About myCAV Use myCAV to: apply to become an incorporated association view and change association details pay fees lodge annual statements

Your myCAV account to use myCAV, secretaries must have a myCAV account, an email address, and access to the internet there is no cost to create a myCAV account the tasks are the same as those you do now, except they are now done online

Delegates can help secretaries can authorise up to 3 delegates to help them if required the secretary remains responsible for compliance under the law.

What can’t a delegate do? A delegate can not change the secretary - only the current secretary can change the secretary.

Who can be a delegate? A delegate can be: another member of your association an accountant or solicitor a representative of a peak body a friend a family member.

Activities not on myCAV The activities that can not be done on myCAV are: amalgamation of associations requesting an extension of time to hold an AGM and lodge an annual statement winding up or cancelling an association. Forms for these activities are available at: consumer.vic.gov.au/associations

myCAV is evolving myCAV will be updated regularly. while the look of myCAV may change over time, its easy step- by-step processes will continue to help you complete tasks quickly and conveniently for your association.
