12. THE MICHIGAN MERIT EXAM All Michigan students take the MME in March of their junior year. It includes: A free ACT college entrance exam that can be used to apply to college. A free WorkKeys assessment that connects work skills training, and testing to improve students’ education and job opportunities. An additional assessment to cover areas not included in ACT or WorkKeys
