Our Rituals & Routines What your teachers Expect … Good Choices earn… Bad Choices mean… 2014 – 2015 School Year Consistency is peacefulness.2

Class Rules 1) Start class on time and with all materials. (textbooks, homework, pencil, paper, etc.) 2) Listen attentively and follow all instructions the first time they are given. 3) Remain seated & quiet unless you have permission to do otherwise. 4) Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself. 5) Respect our classroom, shared materials, your teachers, your classmates, & yourself. 6) No gum or candy allowed unless given to you by your teachers. Students read aloud3

WHY are these the rules? Think about the reasons each rule would be important for our classroom. You have 5 minutes to write down at least 2 reasons for each rule. When Dr. Jones-Wilson says to, pair with your neighbor to compare your responses. 1) Start class on time and with all materials. Think - Pair 7-10 minutes total 4

If I CHOOSE to break a rule… 1) Warning. (Verbal) 2) A Behavior Citation. (MUST be signed by a parent and returned the NEXT DAY) 3) Phone call home. (Behavior Citation not returned OR repetitive penalties) 4) Pod isolation. (4 Behavior Citations – in a nine week period – OR repetitive penalties) 5) Office Referral. (Administrator decides appropriate penalty)  Repetitive disruptions, disrespect, etc. will result in skipped steps and a definite call home!  Each day is a new chance, but remember to learn from your mistakes and make better choices ! Discussion5

If I make GOOD CHOICES…  Praise & Smiles (daily)  PAWS passes (daily)  Ticket Drawing (Mon., Weds., & Fri.)  Positive phone call/note home (random)  The joy of learning (each day of the school year) Discussion6
