11. Chapters 1.Alexander’s Beginnings: Where he came from when? Who were his parents? How was his home life? What education did he have? Analyze how his upbringing (home/education) affected him? Who is Bucephalus? 2.Alexander’s Rise to Power: How did he come to power? How was he different/the same as his father? What did he do with his power? What can you infer about Alexander’s character?

12. Chapters 3. Alexander goes to war with Persia: Why did he go to war? How did the war develop? Describe his methods/philosophies of fighting and compare it to the Persian ways of fighting. What routes did he travel during his wars? What were some of the major battles and people he fought? Who did he fight with? Who were his friends? How long did he fight?
