Background Information Born on March 14, 1879 Ulm, Wurttemberg, Germany Died on April 18, 1955 Age 76 Princeton, New Jersey, USA Two wives Three kids Daughter went missing

Short Bio Age 16, failed exam Left school In 1905, Einstein got his PhD Wrote a paper on the topic now called the special theory of relativity Einstein’s IQ was 160 Travelled widely In a visit to the United States, he was offered a position at Princeton University. After his arrival, the Nazis took control of Germany and Einstein never returned.
4
More Info Einstein renounced his German citizenship in 1896 Became a Swiss citizen in 1901 Einstein worked in a patent office in Bern, Switzerland 1902 through 1909
5
Einstein’s Theories Changed thoughts on space and time On Earth, we deal with the same laws of light and gravity as something, or someone, way out in the universe.
6
Einstein’s Theories Developed a theory based on spacetime continuum Gravity was an integral part Light and other electromagnetic signals propagated through gravity at a constant speed - the speed of light
7
Theory of Relativity Physics: Special Theory of Relativity Einstein proved that time and length are not absolute Special Relativity: E=mc² stating that two physical quantities, energy and mass, are equivalent. Physics: General Theory of Relativity Space and time become more flexible. Time intervals you measure may vary depending on where and when you are Curvature of space and time, gravity affects this Physics: E=MC2

10
Fun Facts His brain was removed and preserved at Princeton University He was born with an abnormally big head Doctors were concerned he might be mentally challenged
