3 Coming up… 0 Over the next several Advisories, Career Center programs will be highlighted. You may even receive some visitors from programs! 0 If you are interested in taking one of these programs your junior and senior years, pick up an application in the CC office or Guidance Dept., fill it out, and turn it in before the priority deadline, January 31, 2015. 0 In the mean time, if you see any of these teachers, be sure to introduce yourself!

4 CBI (Career Based Intervention) 0 Mr. Cook Become more goal-oriented Learn to use problem-solving skills Improve your attendance and grades Earn money while you learn in school Become better prepared for future employment and promotion

5 Commercial Truck & Equipment Technology 0 Mr. McDaniel Want interesting work with variety each day? Don't want to sit behind a desk? Not afraid to get dirty? We want you! Learn to work on a variety of diesel powered equipment in a program that has won many state and national competitions. We are a highly technical field that challenges sharp young minds. Work with engines, steering/ suspension, drive trains, brakes, electrical components, perform preventive maintenance.

6 Cooperative Business Education & High School of Business 0 Miss Hadsell 0 Miss Winegardner Q: What do your favorite rock group’s tour schedule, the logo on a coffee mug, and the Wall Street Journal have in common? A: Business. It’s everywhere! Earn class credit, collect a paycheck from working in an office setting, and get a start on your career by signing up for Cooperative Business Education your senior year. Cant’ wait until then? Become part of High School of Business by signing up for Principles of Business & Economics.

7 Criminal Justice 0 Mr. Watson Answer the call to a career in law enforcement! Start on the pathway toward a number of different careers including municipal police, county sheriff, state patrol, federal law enforcement, military police, private security and corrections. Juniors learn about: Arrest and searches, Crime scenes, Surveillance, Gangs, Patrolling, CPR/AED, and Gambling laws. Seniors learn about: Prisoner booking, Forensic science, Riot control, Chemical agents, Polygraph, Bombs and explosives, Collecting evidence, Line-ups, and Juvenile justice. Compete in Skills USA, as well.

8 Dental Assisting 0 Mrs. Shelton Get prepared to work with dentists and in dental laboratories. Learn computer assisted office practices and procedures, patient preparation and comfort, chair side assisting procedures, and the use of laboratory materials and equipment. While you’re at it, earn your CPR license and Dental Radiology License. This program prepares students for both employment and/or continued education upon graduation. Compete in Skills USA, as well.

9 Engineering Technology 0 Mr. Campbell 0 Foundations teacher: Mr. Pettit Explore the engineering industry through the design phase (civil & industrial), process phase (electrical, electromechanical, electronic, and mechanical) and product/service phase (manufacturing and quality). Read blue prints, use CAD drawing software, design and build various projects, and compete in FIRST Robotics!

10 Healthcare Services 0 Mrs. Lynch Want to work in a health care career after high school? Planning to study medicine or nursing at college? We want you! Learn medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, as well as medical office management. Senior year students will have the opportunity to obtain their State Tested Nurse Aide Training and Competency program though the Ohio Department of Health. Compete in Skills USA, as well.

11 Programming & Software Development 0 Mr. Williams Learn computer programming (VB.NET, C++, Java), video game design, web page design, operating systems, video and photo editing and other software development topics. Compete in Business Professionals of America, as well.

12 Precision Machining (aka Manufacturing Engineering Technology) 0 Mr. Fox Like working with your hands? Enjoy solving problems? We want you! Start your future now in the creative and highly skilled field of Manufacturing Engineering Technology. Use your skills to make parts for equipment that runs the world. Topics include: CNC Machining Milling Machine Operations Blueprint Reading Surface Grinding Engine Lathe Operations Compete in Skills USA, as well.
