2. Johann Lamont was elected leader of the Scottish Labour Party in December 2011. She was born in Glasgow and became involved in politics when she was a student at Glasgow University. She joined the Labour party as a teenager. She became the first ever MSP for Glasgow Pollok in 1999 and was successfully re-elected in 2003, 2007 and 2011.

9. They will protect frontline police jobs and police numbers, with a community policing team in your area. New compulsory minimum jail sentences for those carrying knives in Scotland.

10. Maintain funding levels for the Climate Challenge Fund. Prioritise the creation of green jobs, aiming for up to 60,000 by 2015.

11. Create a new Commission for Rural Scotland to report on protecting rural communities Ensure that Scotland’s forests remain in public ownership
