Nikos Avlonas is one of the founders and Managing Director of the Centre for Sustainability & Excellence –CSE, a global Think Tank and Sustainable Development Strategic advisory Network, based in Athens and Brussels been active in more than 12 countries. Nikos is a well known international speaker in topics related to Sustainable Development and CSR and has delivered speeches all over the world (in Chicago, Kolkata, Beijing, Istanbul, London, Paris, Cairo, Madrid, Barcelona, Brussels, Rome, Budapest, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Hague, Moscow, Tehran, Luxemburg, Warsaw, Athens, Nicosia, Singapur and Dubai). Nikos specialises in Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility & Governance, Business Ethics and Performance Management. He has carried out numerous projects in leading organizations including Fortune Global 500 Companies like BP, Dell Computers, Mc Cain, TNT, DHL, Lafarge, Deutsche Post, HSBC, Βank of Cyprus, TECOM,DIFC and many others including the European Investment Bank. In addition he is the advisor of Lloyds TSB bank on Corporate Social Responsibility. Nikos has served, since 2000, as a Part -Time Professor at the American College Of Greece (Deree College) lecturing on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Total Quality Management and Supply Chain Management. Additionally he has lectured at a variety of Universities including the Kellogg School of Management (Chicago) and Sheffield Hallam University (U.K). He collaborates with global Non-Profit organizations like International Chamber of Commerce (ICC ),World Council for Corporate Governance (WCFCG) UN Global Compact, the European Academy for Business in Society and many others. Nikos is also member of the advisory board of the The EthicMark® an annual global award based in the U.S. that recognizes outstanding marketing, advertising, and public relations campaigns and communications designed to uplift the human spirit and society. He is one of the founders and Vice President of the Corporate Responsibility Institute a non for profit organization for CSR performance evaluation and benchmarking based on the BITC CR Index. In the past he was the initiator and Vice Chairman of the Greek Institute for Business Ethics (Member of the European Business Ethics Network -EBEN ) & Scientific Advisor to the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), based in Brussels, in the field of Business Excellence and Corporate Social Responsibility. He has cooperated, usually as project leaderfor the development of a CSR European Framework & relevant tools & methodologies supported by the United Nations and Secretary General Kofi Annan. Additionally he participated as an expert in the EFQM Excellence model Executive Review Committee, which created the ‘’Business Excellence Model Ed. 2003’’ for more than 30,000 European Enterprises. He has extensive international experience in Executive training & coaching (in more than 25 countries), having taught over 4,000 managers in public & private sector organizations /foundations including EFQM(Brussels), Dubai Government, BP, Coca –Cola, Mobistar, Rolls Royce,Total, Deutsche Post, Pioneer Europe,Swiss Institude for applied Sciences, Athens International Airport, DELL,Tasty Foods, the Hellenic Bank Association, Bank of Valetta, Lloyds TSB, British American Tobacco, Cosmote, Dubai Airport,the Volvo Group, EDF,Dubai Holding. He has been invited as a key note speaker, to many international conferences all over the world and has contributed as chairman and advising member in the organization and coordination of workshops and international conferences on a variety of business topics. Finally he has published numerous articles & surveys in international and local magazines/ newspapers on issues related to Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility & Governance, Climate Change, Business Ethics & Sustainability, Business Excellence etc and he has given many interviews relevant to the above issues to local & international TV channels including CNBC, CCTV ( China Central TV) and many others. Nikos Avlonas is married, has a young son and currently resides in Athens with his family.
