www.acg.org Page 28 New Chapter Formation Chapter formation generally takes 6-8 months of diligent organizing. Selecting an Organizing Committee of at least eight industry leaders is a key driver of success. The Organizing Committee leads the development of the chapter, membership, and initial events until the Board of Directors is selected. Mentoring and support provided by ACG Global, other Chapters and ACG member firms.
29
www.acg.org Page 29 Organization of Events Organizing Committees may host interest events prior to the actual chapter formation. Events are generally comprised of a high-profile speaker or well known industry panel. Networking time should always be built into the program. ACG Global can set-up a chapter Website in order to promote the organization of the chapter and local events.
30
www.acg.org Page 30 Membership Recruitment The Organizing Committee should leverage the individual contacts of its members to develop a member prospect list. ACG Global will assist by developing a prospect list utilizing industry databases. The most successful Chapters include Corporate, Private Equity, Intermediaries and a variety of service providers.
