Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
LDAP uses the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) transport protocol. LDAP answers incoming requests from TCP port 389. For security, LDAP uses Basic Encoding Rules (BER). LDAP assumes X.500 support.
