L2000 Technical Training 7. I-Functions

Objective  After completion of this module you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the I-Functions of the L2000 ip  General knowledge of IT is required for this module.

L2000 ip ‘i’ Functions  I- Fax to I-Fax  Fax to E-Mail  Scan to FTP  Auto transfer to  Fax  E-Mail  FTP  Network printing  PC Faxing

The ultimate in Faxing Experience

Router Internet Fax IP Network T.38 Path IP Network T.37 Path Mail Server Router IP Network

Internet FAX – Email Transmission  Faxes can be sent directly to an email address as a TIFF or PDF attachment. The document is sent with simple and easy operation and saves cost by routing over the Internet. Paperless Fax reception is possible directly to the intended recipient. Paper document Scan Attached file in Email (TIFF, PDF) Mail server Ethernet TIFF, PDF file attached in Email Mail server Ethernet FAX-L2000IP

Internet Fax – iFax Simple Mode TX  In this function fax communication is carried out over the IP network using T.37 Simple Mode. Operation on senders and receiver side is identical to normal faxing but cost is saved by using the Internet instead of PSTN. The document is converted to a TIFF file at the sender side. At the receiver side the attached TIFF file is printed out as a Fax. The document is sent using SMTP protocol.SMTP Paper document Scan IFAX ITU-T T.37 (Simple mode) protocol Ethernet Mail server Ethernet Mail server FAX-L2000IP

Internet Fax – iFax Simple Mode RX  For reception the FAX-L2000Ip can receive the internet fax using the POP3 protocol. Reception Paper document Scan IFAX PC Ethernet Mail server POP3 ITU-T T.37 (Simple mode) protocol Mail server Ethernet FAX-L2000IP

Network Scanning – FTP Transmission  This is a form of network scanning using a “push” method. An FTP site address can be programmed into the One-Touch key and documents can then be uploaded with a single button press. The electronic document can then be shared amongst a group or stored to a personal folder. A password can also be programmed into the One-Touch key to access folders which require a password. Users can then download the document from their PC. 10 Automatic Transfer of Received Fax  This function allows incoming faxes (via PSTN or Internet) to the FAX-L2000IP to be forwarded automatically.  The device can be setup to forward all incoming faxes or faxes from selected originators. The faxes can then be forwarded to an email address, another fax telephone number, another r Internet Fax or an FTP Site. Mobile PC Internet FAX FTP Server G3 FAX Output on paper is also available. Internet FAX PC E-mail G3 FAX E-mail PSTN

Relaying  Relay Broadcasting enables you to receive documents from an originator fax machine with Internet Fax capabilities, and then relay the documents to other Internet Fax capable fax machines within the relay network. You can use a relay box to store documents which have been sent via an originator machine until your machine is ready to send or relay them to the other machines on the network.

Network Printing and PC-Faxing  The FAX-L2000IP can be used a network printer and as a PC-Network Fax. As well as the USB a parallel interfaces the RJ45 Ethernet socket gives network connectivity. This way, multiple uses on a network can use the FAX-L2000IP to print to and to send faxes from their PC desktop. The advantage of PC-Faxes is that they are sent with high quality and reduced cost and effort. Ethernet G3 FAX Windows PC FAX-L2000IP

Remote User Interface  The Remote User Interface is built into the network card of the FAX-L2000IP. It can be used by simply inputting the IP address of the device into a web browser such as Internet Explorer. The RUI is actually a web page that can be used to view or alter the FAX-L200IP’s settings. This concept is also used on the iR range of machines. Ethernet Remote control to PL from PC Check status Operate jobs Change settings http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX (IP address for L2000ip) FAX-L2000IP

Duplex Printing  As a standard feature the FAX-L2000IP and FAX-L2000 fitted with network kit is able to print in duplex mode. When duplex mode is selected in the driver, the printer will print on one side of the paper a feed out. Before the paper is completely ejected, it will feed the sheet back in a print on the reverse side
