Thar Desert and the Lower Indus Valley: There are rocky hills, dry valleys. Balochistan Plateau: makes up almost half of Balochistan Dry plateau region

6 General Geography Indus Basin: the world's biggest connected irrigation system Five major rivers in basin: Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej Northwest Frontier: Full of mountains that have little to no vegetation. There is also very rocky land. There are many irrigated, fertile valleys.

Far North: This region is full of many tall mountains with snow-capped peaks, including the K-2, with a height of 8,611 meters. There are also thin valleys and glaciers. This region is a very beautiful sight.

9 Climate Temperate climate.
People living in Pakistan experience very hot summers and relatively warm winters. From June until September the Pakistani people are lashed by monsoons.

10 Flag of Pakistan This is the flag of Pakistan.
Flag has a crescent to signify the bright future. Five pointed star signifies the five pillars in the Islamic religion, Tauheed, Salat, Shahada, Zakat, and Hajj. This is the flag of Pakistan.

12 Culture Main sports- cricket and field hockey
Fun activities- kite flying, marbles, hide-and-seek, a game with sticks,and a physical fighting game known as Kabaddi. This is a kite, one of the main activities played.

15 Culture Continued... The national dress is called the shalwar kameez, there are different types for the seasons and for women and men. Very conservative, men only wear shorts for sports. women aren't allowed to wear shorts. Almost all of a woman's body is covered. This includes the head and the face. This is a Shalwar Kameez.

16 Food! Most popular beverage: tea .
Rice is often found in dinners, as a side or for dessert. Spicy food is often eaten, many dishes are made spicy. Curry is a theme in many dishes. An example of a spicy curry dish: chicken curry. Tea: the most popular beverage in in Pakistan You can see the rice under this dish.

17 Holidays Christmas is only celebrated by the small population of Christians National Holiday of Pakistan is Republic Day. Holiday is always on March 23rd A holiday celebrated by almost everyone is the birth of Quaid-E-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the first ruler of Pakistan. 18 Fun Facts Pakistan was the first Islamic country to have a woman prime minister. Pakistan is known as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. In the mid nineteen hundreds Pakistan was part of India. Pakistan has the sixth highest population in the world, with more than one thirty-sixth of the world's population. Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan's, and the first Muslim states first woman president
