Curriculum Writers DATE ACTIVITY PERSONNEL PURPOSE 2007 -2008
Curriculum Writing Science Curriculum Writers C&I Science Specialists Merged appropriate science activities and resources to the CSCOPE lessons. Reviewed the CSCOPE lessons and provided alternate activities that could be substituted into the lesson, still addressing the appropriate content and performance standards. Enabled the utilization of the existing science materials and resources including: instructional strategies from previous science trainings and technology such as Vernier, TI calculators and laptops.

Lead Teacher Training Campus Grade Level Lead Teachers C&I Science Specialists Reviewed the alternate activities suggested by the curriculum writers Inventoried existing science materials on their campuses Created master materials list for their individual campus Determined which labs will be used for the CSCOPE lesson to ensure continuity on each campus.

District Pull-Out for Elementary Facilitators and Grade Level Lead Teachers; District Pull-Out Day for Middle School Science Teachers All Elementary Facilitators and Grade Level Lead Teachers All MS Science Teachers C&I Science Specialists With DEIC Committee approval: Elementary Facilitators and Grade Level Lead Teachers attended a 3-hour training MS Science Teachers attended a 6-hour training Trainers compared and demonstrated CSCOPE activities and Alternate Activities. The 5E Model was reviewed; dialogue on the IFDs, VADS, and YAG continued.

DATE ACTIVITY PERSONNEL PURPOSE January 2008 District Waiver Day All MS Science Teachers Region 1 ESC Science Specialist C&I Science Specialists Region 1 ESC Science Specialist presented an overview of CSCOPE and its documents including the 5E Model, IFDs, YAGs, and VADs Teachers were presented with a CSCOPE lesson and an alternate activity August 2008 All Elementary Science Teachers Elementary Lead Teachers Science teachers met by grade levels to review items related to the implementation of CSCOPE including: 5E Model, IFDs, YAGs, and VADs Status of campus resources Review of district resources, Alternate Activities Tables

Maintenance Training DATE ACTIVITY PERSONNEL PURPOSE 2008 -2009
Maintenance Trainings Elementary Lead Teachers All MS Science Teachers C&I Science Specialists On-going maintenance training sessions to identify potential any problems and needed resources. Units and lessons were previewed and activities practiced. Voluntary meetings, with teachers receiving a stipend for their attendance. District-level check to ensure that teachers were implementing the program.
