One of the oldest schools of our Republic, the secondary school named after Mullanur Vakhitov, was opened on the 24 th of June 1922. It was one of the first Muslim schools of the second stage.

Those unforgettable 1418 days… Day after day they worked for the victory. At last the II World War came to an end.

In the hardest year of the war, 1941, they had been sure victory would come. They said: “We’ll do everything to defend our Motherland”. Among those ones was a girl named Asiya Saifutdinova (Rakhmatullina). At school she was one of the best students, a brave one, and active member of the Komsomol. She took active part in every deed at school.

After the war, in September, 1945, Asiya returned to her native town. Just imagine-relatives, teachers, her mother met her… All her life she worked as a bookkeeper at her accountant’s office. Asiya was hard working and very fair. “I want today’s and future generations never to see horrors of war”, - Asiya Rakhmatullina said. Well, unfortunately, last year she left us for ever. This is her house 115, Engels Street.

The years went by. The teachers of our school have done everything to bring up the younger generation in the spirit of love for Motherland. During the war and after it our school was one of the best schools in our Republic, because experienced, literate and talented teachers Such as Gulsum Sulteeva, Rakhilya Ibragimova, Roza Salakhova, Roza Mardanova, Mardan Mardanov, A Iskanderov, Gubai Abdullin, G. Mukhametzyanova, Kamal Minaev and others worked there. Everything was done to evoke children’s interest to studies, explain them the necessity of getting education.

Many of graduates became famous people, among them teachers, scientists, writers, doctors, pilots, workers… Barlas Kamalov, for example, a professional writer, wrote in his letter “I spent the happiest years of my life here”.

I think, that school opens the door to life, giving you the foundations of systematic knowledge. You must have a good knowledge of yourself to choose the correct road in life. It’s important to decide what you will do in life and to do it well. Everybody should take an active position in life to be a worthy citizen of our country. You cannot stand by and merely watch what is going on in our country and in other parts of the world.
