If Athletics = the LCDS Front Porch….. Why wouldn’t we want to have a well- organized program with dedicated coaches, focused and motivated athletes, and the most competitive teams we could possibly have?

Expectations: Parents / Players --Chain of command --Communicate with coaches --Strategy, playing time --Behavior at games: “Be nice.” (Front porch!) --Treat coaches/officials with respect --Attend everything (3 spring forfeits; 10% absentee rate) --Know your role (Ask!)

Expectations: Coaches / AD --Communication (pre- and postseason chat with players; weekly emails) --Be organized: program identity, practice plans, game plans (constantly evaluate) --Be honest with players --Communication……lots of it --Chain of command --Uphold our mission statement (accountability, sportsmanship, pursuit of excellence)

Program Identities From Mike Neighbors’ article “Is your team well-coached?” --Well-coached teams have identifiable standards of excellence on the court. --Well-coached teams have players who have surrendered to the culture of their program.

Players can’t surrender to the culture of the program if they don’t know what that culture is.
